Greetings and welcome to my blog. 🙂
I was born on the cold Canadian prairies, but fled to Vancouver in early adulthood. Now I live in England with my hubby and four black cats.
I love animals and that is why I don’t eat meat. I have been vegetarian since 1990 and mostly vegan since 2003. [“Mostly” because I do occasionally consume honey.] All of the recipes on this site are vegan.
The purpose of this blog is to show people that vegan food can be every bit as satisfying as — and more healthy than — non-vegan meals. Everyone is welcome, whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or just looking for some healthy, scrumptious and thrifty meal ideas!
Besides recipes, you will also find the occasional post on frugal living, self-sufficiency, gardening, making homebrew, and cats.
Why can’t I CTRL++ to make the type larger? When I try I get a “content protected” error. The type is too small for me.
Hi Annette — I’m not sure why CTRL++ doesn’t work on your computer/browser, as it works on both Chrome and Firefox on mine. Perhaps try another browser? I did have to protect the content by making it not able to be copied/pasted because people were stealing my recipes and photos and passing it off as their own.
I would like to subscribe to your blog but don’t have that option. I love your recipes!
Love the site! Found it via Veganoo – another of my faves – and have just blogged about you both here, hope you don’t mind! http://www.veganrecipeclub.org.uk/vegan-cooking-blog/gettin-my-vegan-sausage-freak
I really love vegan sites and frugal sites and the combination is a winner imho so congratulations and keep on going. Your recipes are lovely too.
I’m sensing you might be in the Hereford/S.Wales area and wondered if you made it to Viva!’s Hereford Incredible Vegan Roadshow a wee while back? We had a great day there and more to the point, so did all the visitors. It is so nice getting out to smaller towns now that most of the cities have their own events…
Best wishes
Jane
Hi Jane, Thanks for your kind words and for the mention in your blog! I am not too far from Hereford but have not been to the Viva Roadshow, nice to see it in a smaller place!
Would you mind if I use your Seitan sausage recipe on http://www.veganrecipeclub.org.uk? I will give a link back to your site and give you full credit of course. I made them this weekend at home and my partner and I loved them. My job is hell, lol.
I like to promote other blogs and sites this way, it’s all about sharing the love but crediting people like you who do the work! I’m particularly into frugal or thrifty sites as I was very poor when I was younger but could cook a bit so survived pretty well. It’s good to encourage such skills methinks… and I hate wasting food as well as wanting to show people you can eat kind and cheap with just a bit of effort. Your blog is one of the nicest I’ve seen for a while.
Hi Jane — Yes that’s fine, so glad you enjoyed the sausage!
