Free audiobook: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

We love free stuff here at the Thrifty household. (Then again, who doesn’t love free stuff?)

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I came across a free audiobook from Thought Audio of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It’s the story of a man who is born with the physical appearance a 70-year-old. As time passes, it becomes apparent that Benjamin is ageing backwards, and is getting younger with each passing year.

It’s a short book, only just over an hour in the audio version, but it’s funny and amusing, a very enjoyable listen. The audiobook has been chopped into 22 mp3 segments, but should play properly (i.e. in sequence) on your player.

A film adaptation of Benjamin Button is in theatres here at the moment (it was released weeks ago in the US), but apparently bears little resemblance to Fitzgerald’s original story. (Although the film has received very good reviews and has been nominated for 13 Oscars.)

If you’re not familiar with audiobooks, this is a good introduction. Give it a listen and see what you think!
